Job description
We are seeking a Billing Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the billing department by reviewing and verifying information before sending out invoices and managing cash receipts through the accounting department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with all business leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Operate office equipment such as photocopier and fax machine.
- Communicate in person, on the telephone, and by email.
- Use good judgment when dealing with customers, suppliers, and management.
- Use a computer and software to send and receive data.
- Maintains professional appearance and neat work area
- Prepares invoices listing items sold and services provided, amounts due, and credit terms.
- Issues credit memorandums to indicate returned or incorrectly billed merchandise.
- Prepares credit forms for customers or finance companies.
- Posts transactions to accounting records such as worksheets, ledgers, and computer files.
- Accesses computer files and compiles reports as requested.
- Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Organize all paperwork in each deal, check for accuracy and completeness
- Process pay-off checks for trade-ins and mail to the appropriate financial institution
- Bills out all dealer trades and prepares Certificates of Origin.
- Prepares stock cards for new and used vehicles.
- Generate and maintain commission reports
- Route paid deals to the title clerk as soon as money is received
- Reconciles new and used inventory schedules
- Reconciles all other schedules pertaining to the posting of the deal
- Communicates with Finance Sales staff to assure deals are turned in and processed in a timely manner
- Maintains sales commissions
- Responsible for Daily Floorplan payoffs
- Uploads Daily Positive Paycheck records
- Posts: Weekly GM Sales Incentive Invoice, Monthly GM Holdback Invoice, Monthly GM Wholesale Flooplan Memo
- Reconciles Dealer Reserve Statements
- Submits Warranty, GAP and other financial product purchases
- Process Warranty, GAP and other financial product cancellations
Automotive Billing Clerk - Education and/or Experience
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements-
- At least 2-5 years of auto dealership accounting experience is required
- Must demonstrate Excel knowledge
- Research skills and ability to analyze the information required to perform job duties
- Detail-oriented and computer proficiency is required
- A positive attitude, good work ethic, and professional appearance
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Applicant must pass the pre-employment background check, MVR, and drug screen
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.31 - $21.55 per hour
