Sierra Vista Hospital is seeking Behavioral Health Admissions Clinician's for the Intake and Utilization Management Department. The Sierra Vista Hospital location, a 171-bed psychiatric care facility located in South Sacramento, is a full-service mental health facility and a center of support for patients and their families. Since 1986, we have offered our clinical expertise to those suffering from emotional, behavioral and addiction problems.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Behavioral Health Admissions Clinician's manages inquiry calls, schedules assessments, and performs psychiatric assessments for individuals presenting as an appointment or walk-in. Clinicians provide clinical summary and recommendation based on their findings, consult with the psychiatrist, and refer/ admit individuals to the appropriate lowest level of care based on the psychiatrists orders. Additionally, provide community referrals as indicated and desired by the individuals. May be responsible for initial insurance pre-authorization of admitted patients with-in 24 hours. Required to assist in maintaining an organized and clean department by wiping down work stations at their shift end, auditing and data entry of referrals and calls, re-stocking documents and forms and filing as time permits. Managing the bedboard accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master degree for social work, MFT or other mental health or related field

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in patient assessment, motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.

Licensure: MSW, MFT, MA, license- eligible preferred.

Additional Requirements: CPR Certification required. Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.
