What we are looking for We are currently seeking a
Bar Manager to own the success of the bar and take the bar to the next level! The Bar Manager is responsible for creating a beverage menu with craft cocktails/mocktails that are in line with the brand, executable at a high-volume level, and rotates seasonally. They are responsible for creating delicious new cocktails either quarterly or annually and must be up to date with new drink trends. They ensure high guest satisfaction by focusing on the training and daily execution of bartending staff. They facilitate ongoing training of existing bartenders, as well as the training of new bartenders.

We have grown from two employees and one business to what you see today, 10+ businesses and over 600 employees between Gruene and San Antonio. The Gristmill A one of a kind, true Texas experience, the Gristmill facility was once home to a cotton gin (circa 1878) and is considered one of the most iconic dining spots in Texas for nearly half a century. The original Gristmill building was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1975 and the Gristmill River Restaurant opened its doors in 1977. Our menu items are made from scratch daily, right down to the soups, sauces and dressings. With its exceptional, tried-and-true menu, multi-level patios and 7 indoor dining rooms, the Gristmill is a quintessential spot that celebrates the regionality that makes Texas so special.

What you will do
- Uphold all operating standards to deliver a legendary guest experience consistently and enthusiastically
- Create new cocktails/mocktails beverages that are in line with the brand and keep up with the latest beverage trends
- Lead our team with a positive attitude, attentiveness to service, and responsiveness to team members
- Supervise, coach, and train existing and new bartenders
- Manage all bar-related inventory and ordering for all bar products
- Ensure alcohol sales are consistently meeting and, at times, exceeding expectations
- Implement, monitor, adhere to, and enforce compliance with all Company and Health & Safety policies and regulations
- Minimum 3 years of restaurant experience
- Minimum 2 years of bar manager experience in a full-service food and beverage establishment
- Experience using a point of sale system (POS) such as Aloha and Restaurant 365 (preferred)
- Current Food Handlers and TABC Certifications
- The ability to work variable full time hours per week, more than 40 hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- The ability to stand for a prolonged period of time
- The ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Working knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws as it pertains to the restaurant industry
- Proven willingness and enthusiasm to embrace personal performance development coaching and instilling the same to develop employees, control costs, and provide outstanding guest experiences
- Effective communication as all levels of the organization
- A self-starter with a positive and hospitality-driven, people-centric focus
- An effective leader with the capacity to maintain control in high-pressure situations
