Quick Lube Technician Responsibilities
As an Entry Level Automotive Technician, you will help drive the continued success of Century West BMW by providing reliable and impeccable preventive maintenance service. You will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, evaluating their needs and performing maintenance to keep their vehicles serviced and safe on the road.
- Evaluate customers’ needs, working quickly and efficiently
- Perform automotive preventive maintenance such as changing oil, checking and refilling other vehicle fluids, replacing filters, and inspecting and replacing lights and wipers
- Contribute to a fun team atmosphere

Service Technician Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealship
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

- We prefer some experience in the retail or service industry – no automotive knowledge is needed
- Have effective interpersonal, oral communication skills
- Have an eagerness to learn
- You can lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Have full mobility and the ability to work with your hands above your head
- Can stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs
Qualifications
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership
- Strong understanding of the service drive
- Years of experience vary per position
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, and excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with the ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures, and specifications
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check
