Automation Test Lead, Associate Director (hybrid)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Designs and develops and executes quality assurance programs and policies. Tests and analyzes software to ensure compliance with specified standards and end-user requirements. Conducts test planning, writing test cases, test case automation, and test execution/defect tracking. Drafts, revises, and approves test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategy. Coordinates with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing. Plans, documents, and directs system tests and resolves issues.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Creates and implements plans to achieve long-term strategic objectives that are aligned with company imperatives and initiatives
  • Working with squads within multiple domains to build and implement effective test strategies
  • Creates and reviews the creation of testing strategies, plans and project documentation using risk analysis methodologies and tools, aligning with development approach/methodology selected for the project.
  • Design and supervise the implementation of automation/manual test scripts which integrates engineering programming languages such as C, C++, Java, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Postman, Rest API, JMeter and SQL Server for full stack delivery of ensuring project features are validated for product delivery as part of QA test plan strategy.
  • Design and implement big data driven testing and validation strategies advancing new and regression transactional test utilizing Snowflake, SQL, platforms, and/or Python code.
  • Incorporate and streamline test automation into build CI/CD pipelines and quality gates
  • Must have at least 5-7 years of experience in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or projects
  • Creates and reviews testing documentation (e.g. test strategies, plans, schedule, cost estimates, test cases, dashboards, defect logs, test phase closure reports) and ensure all test artifacts adhere to testing standards and audit requirements.
  • Understands and communicates testing impact of scope changes / project change requests to the project management team both from a timeline/cost and a risk perspective.
  • Develops and manages operational processes that are consistent across the portfolio; ensure QA processes are incorporated into overall technology delivery practices and standards.
  • Supports the integrated intake/demand/schedule and periodically perform risk assessments; communicate and negotiate testing timelines, budget, staffing, scope and critical milestones with project managers.
  • Manage business partner relationships to build knowledge of business, applications and corresponding IT applications.
  • Acts as a consultant / resource to other areas of IT and the Business; promote and develop awareness of testing methodologies and standards.
  • Implements quality, operational, and service management processes and ensure adherence to the processes.
  • Prior experience in leading large distributed (onsite-offshore) teams
  • Superior cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and strategic critical thinking skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications, including proven ability to interface with senior IT and business leadership

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Software engineering or equivalent field.
Master's degree in computer science/Software Engineering or equivalent field preferred.

Work Experience:
12-15 years – similar experience


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead small to mid-sized Quality Assurance teams.
  • Provides feedback to Director/Sr Director for staff performance.
  • Leads and manages defect review/triage process and meetings.
  • Creates, manages and adheres to the standards of the QA management teams process documentation (Test Plans, Test Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrices and other QA work products) the of all QA artifacts.
  • Ability to evaluate and identify opportunities to improve technology performance.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload. Proficient in writing SQLs to query the back end during the test execution.
  • Strong mentoring in QA process and methodology.
  • Expertise in testing web-based applications and web services-based systems with minimal to no user interface.
  • Ability to stay continuously informed on current leading-edge technologies industry trends.
    Project management skills.

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking.
