SUMMARY: Reports directly to the building principal or his/her designee. Be responsible performing duties associated with student attendance reporting and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately input and maintain computer information for attendance, enrollment and student records.
- Enter all student attendance records into the computerized student information system daily.
- Have a working knowledge of District attendance regulations and procedures.
- Contact parents of students with attendance concerns via phone, email and/or letters.
- Work with administrators, parents, staff and students concerning attendance concerns.
- Oversees student ‘sign in’ and ‘sign out’ processes and maintains records of all absences due to late arrivals and early dismissals.
- Works with administrators, home to school coordinators, parent liaisons, counselors, social workers and other school staff on issues regarding student attendance.
- Compiles and submits daily, weekly, monthly and year-end attendance reports as required/requested.
- Serves as a member of the school’s Attendance Task Force.
- Notifies administrator(s) of excessive/unexcused student absences.
- Assists school staff with the enrollment process for new and returning students.
- Communicates with the transportation department to resolve issues impacting student attendance.
- Assists the Secretary III as needed with duties necessary to maintain a positive, productive school environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
- Graduation from a general or technical high school.
- Experience with computer software and data input.
- Ability to compile reports and disaggregate data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
- Clerical/typist experience.
- Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.
Physical Demands:
- Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
- Exerts 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer.
- Sufficient vision to read printed material, see distant objects with clarity, and identify and distinguish objects.
- Sufficient hearing to hear conversations in person and on the telephone, and hear sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
- Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation and on the telephone, and in addressing groups.
- Requires occasional or frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
- The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and is generally a hazard free environment.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.

Pay: From $15.05 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
