Advanced Veterinary Care of Greenwood Village is a privately owned and operated veterinary clinic that provides personalized care for pets in Greenwood Village, Denver, Centennial, Englewood, and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to treat every pet and pet parent who enters the facility like a member of the family. Our team of dedicated professionals show pets the same love and respect that we show our own, and we work with our clients to help make the best decisions for their companions.

We are currently looking to add an Associate Veterinarian to our team. The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for maintaining animal health by preventing, diagnosing, and treating diseases and injuries. The Associate Veterinarian is also responsible for explaining diagnoses and treatments to pet owners, performing all general soft tissue surgeries, and providing guidance to nurses and assistants. This position requires stellar communication and customer service skills to be able to answer pet owners' questions and educate new pet owners on general pet care. The successful candidate will be professional yet compassionate and display sound knowledge of animal healthcare and treat all pets with compassion and love.

  • We administer PRP and Stem Cell treatments

We currently have the following diagnostics (some are rather unique):

  • Full in-house IDEXX lab suite of analyzers
  • Digital Cytology- a remote board-certified pathologist reads cases in under 30 minutesOncoK9 liquid biopsy for cancer screening
  • HT Vista non-invasive cancer screening tool - we are one of two clinics in Colorado who have this. Our clinic was featured on channel 7 news recently to inform the public of this new service.
  • Embark & Wisdom Panel genetic testing
  • We work with Vidium Animal Health & Fidocure to develop personalized, precision medicine
  • VEMO- wireless and wearable ECG sensor
  • Nextmune allergy testing
  • PainTrace to detect, quantify and track pain

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Practice in accordance with principles of veterinary medical ethics
  • Examine patients to diagnose various diseases and clearly explain physical examination findings and communicate prognosis of pets’ problems to clients
  • Treat patients by prescribing appropriate medications, cleaning and dressing wounds, and performing surgeries and other medical procedures
  • Advising pet owners on proper aftercare following surgeries and medical procedures
  • Leverage evidence-based medicine and continue pursuit of education to deliver quality patient care
  • Educate clients about pet health needs, diagnosis or treatment, hospital services, preventive care, and other related information regarding their pets’ health
  • Collect samples of pets' blood, urine, and feces as required
  • Operate radiographic and ultrasound equipment to conduct further diagnostic testing
  • Partner with vet nurses and assistants to ensure pet records are updated following each treatment and medical procedure
  • Ad hoc duties

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • Valid State Veterinarian license
  • Minimum 2+ years prior experience working as a veterinarian
  • High aptitude and excellent independent judgment skills with ability to think and act quickly
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills and warm bedside manner
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Previous use and proficiency of Ezy-Vet considered advantageous

Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits, Work Environment

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 6 pm*
  • No overnight, no weekends, no major holidays
  • Scheduled appointments only – no walk-ins
  • *AVC prefers this position be full-time but willing to consider part-time and flex-time schedules (i.e., 4-10’s, etc.) after initial training period
