Biochemist

Location: Lake County / North Chicago, IL – ONSITE

Contract: 1 year with possible extension

NOTE: This person will have to split their time at building and to the North Chicago location.

Ideal candidate will probably either come from an academic lab where they purified proteins in a technician role or might come from a CMO where they did small scale protein purification to support process development.

Requirements:

• BS/BA in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Medical Technology or related field with 2-5 yrs biochemistry lab experience or Masters Degree.
• Experience in Protein Chromatography (SEC, Ion exchange, RPLC. Experience with a chromatography data system is a plus, but not required, we will train.
• Understanding of how to use analytical instruments including HPLC and electrophoresis for separations.
• Solid documentation skills, familiarity with electronic lab notebook a plus.
• Able to present findings to larger groups.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute assigned laboratory tasks utilizing standard procedures and technical understanding of various techniques to complete assigned tasks.
• Develop protocols for more complex tests or experiments performed with less defined assays and parameters.
• Apply basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and instrument related systems.
• Presents conclusions of defined experiments.
• Ensures safety requirements are met when performing tasks.
• Ensures timely compliant delivery of high quality precise data

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
