Department Summary
The Department of Health Behavior & Health Systems is one of two departments in the UNTHSC School of Public Health. The goal of the HBHS department is to help communities and health systems improve policy, management, and public health practice. Graduates of our MPH, MHA, MS and PhD programs assume positions in state and regional health departments, government entities, non-profit organizations, human services, research, and academic settings.

Position Summary
The Department of Health Behavior & Health Systems in the School of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Health Behavior Research, tenured track.

HBHS is one of two departments in the UNTHSC School of Public Health. The goal of the HBHS department is to help communities and health systems improve policy, management, and public health practice. Graduates of our MPH, MHA, MS and PhD programs assume positions in state and regional health departments, government entities, non-profit organizations, human services, research, and academic settings.
Our faculty are widely recognized for their innovative teaching and impactful research. Their work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control, National Science Foundation, and many other national, state and local agencies. Faculty are widely published in the areas of patient safety, disease control, health disparities and underserved populations, women’s and children’s health, participatory research, substance abuse prevention, and online/m-health interventions. HBHS faculty have received national and international awards for their work bridging teaching, research and practice.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in public health, a social and behavioral science, or a related field. In addition, the successful candidate will have a record of scholarly activity demonstrating potential toward research funding.
In addition, the successful candidate will have a record of effectively teaching courses in Maternal and Child Health.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those who can strengthen existing areas of teaching and research excellence in the University, which include health disparities, community engaged research and maternal and child health.
