Job Summary
The Horst Schultze School of Hospitality Management (HOSP) and Department of Nutritional Sciences (NTRI) are seeking candidates for the position of Financial Associate I/II to provide financial and accounting support. This position is responsible for budget management, financial reporting, and audit/reconciliation for both academic units.

Essential Functions
1. Prepares, examines, codes, and processes forms, vouchers, and reports for financial transactions. Processes all travel and vendor vouchers for student and faculty travel and arranges payment of vendors for study travel. Reconciles purchasing card transactions for HOSP and NTRI.
2. Assists HOSP Head of School and NTRI Department Head with preparation of annual budget. Monitors and analyzes budget; provides monthly reports on expenditures to each unit leader and draws attention to areas of concern.
3. Advises others about financial policy, development and implementation of new systems and workflow procedures; may train, assign and review the work of others.
4. Generates, reviews, analyzes, reconciles, and processes reports and listings from central offices. Provides faculty with comprehensive monthly reports on their accounts and maintains regular communication with faculty to ensure accuracy of financial activity.
5. Assists with budgeting, ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing for events, community classes, and special projects. Collects and disburses cash, checks, and other negotiable instruments.
6. Manages receiving, auditing, and reporting of funds into the financial accounting system. Coordinates and monitors equipment ordering, delivery, receiving, property transfer, and surplus for HOSP and NTRI.
7. Prepares forms for faculty overloads, adjunct faculty, additional compensation, and Professional Services Contracts.
8. Provides payment services to include (but not limited to) approving payments of invoices and processing requisitions.
9. Serves as liaison to College of Human Sciences, central, and other finance offices and assists faculty in initiating contract and grant proposals.

Level I: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 4 years experience in financial support services.
