Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Functions
The Associate Director for University Scheduling and Events is a highly visible position that requires outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills as well as a high level of attention to detail. Responsible for planning and ongoing implementation of 25Live scheduling system for non-academic events and programs. Train and guide other employees on the correct usage of the scheduling software.
This position will model campus and community collaboration, effective communication, creative and critical thinking, goal setting and service oriented engagement. It will convene and co-lead, with a representative from IRAP, the 25Live Schedulers Group to support campus event schedulers. Serves on the University Space Committee and maintains the database of bookable spaces and resources.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 8 years of experience in project management and/or event planning preferably in higher education.
  • Extensive knowledge of Appalachian State University, its policies and strategic plan
  • Direct experience with CollegeNet-25Live scheduling software.

Required Functional Competencies to Successfully Perform Job Duties.
Program Supervision and Administration
  • Responsible for planning and ongoing implementation of CollegeNet 25Live scheduling system for non-academic events and program
  • Develop training materials and tutorials for campus schedulers and execute training programs.
  • Collaborate with the Exec Dir to develop and maintain scheduling policies and protocol standards for internal and external constituents
  • Work with campus partners to refine and develop standard operating procedures for all bookable spaces
  • Oversee database of bookable spaces and resources for all AppState Campuses
  • Manage logistical planning and approval process for a high volume of events
  • Serve on the Space Committee


Communication
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with campus and community partners
  • Communicate and implement best practices, benchmarking, reporting and assessment for staffing, operations and services
  • Develop and ensure a high-level of customer service culture and experience plan

Professional Knowledge
  • Convenes and co-leads, with a representative from Institutional Research (IRAP), the CollegeNet Schedulers Group to support campus event schedulers
  • Manages Functional Specialist and additional support staff as need increases
  • Acts as a liaison between parties with regard to all facets of logistical operations support of university events
  • Participates in strategic planning and other special projects and initiatives as assigned

Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
