Summary/Objective


STP is looking for an experienced candidate with a deep knowledge of OTC Derivatives to lead the creation of a small group in charge of creating and maintaining the firm’s unlisted security masters. The candidate must have a front-to-back knowledge of the following products: Swaps (TRS, IRS, CDS, CS-), Forwards, Repos/Sell-Buy-Backs, PIK Bonds, Term Loans, Futures & Options, Rights, warrants, Private Placements, Commercial Paper etc.

This candidate will initially serve as the firm’s subject-matter expert and will work directly with the firm’s Operation Verticals and Technology team to create and deliver a standardized solution for OTC products that the firm’s clients trade that can be leveraged across all business verticals. This candidate will be the face of our derivative offering.

  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and steady state operating model of the Shared Services OTC vertical.
  • Continuously monitor and update operating model to changing business needs
  • Will lead client discussions concerning OTC assets.
  • Perform processing and daily maintenance for derivative swap trades.
  • Reconcile and research position, interest accruals, and other variances
  • Perform daily or weekly reporting functions for the team’s activities
  • Maintain knowledge of current alternative procedures and processes
  • Ensure quality and efficiency for business-facing reports and outputs
  • Partner with Business Solutions, Account Managers, and Global Operations to ensure appropriate controls are in place
  • Understand and stay abreast of industry evolution, collaborate with business and technology to assess impact of industry and regulatory changes
  • Leverage service providers, peer networks and user collaboration sources to evaluate and monitor for best practices
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests and participate in special projects as needed
  • Superior internal and client service skills; ability to own day-to-day management of client experience and engage with senior level staff
  • Experienced leader with deep knowledge of OTC Derivatives & ISDA standards
  • Highly collaborative individual that can influence people, solve problems as part of a group, voice their opinion, and is open to challenging the status quo
  • Flexible and independent team player who is comfortable leaving their comfort zone and thinking creatively

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Experience with prior accounting systems and dealing with security masters is required
  • 4 + years working with complex OTC products Swaps (TRS, IRS, CDS, CS-), Forwards, Repos/Sell-Buy-Backs, PIC Bonds, Term Loans, Futures & Options, Rights, warrants, Private Placements, Commercial Paper etc. is required

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with middle office accounting software systems.
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Eagle experience a plus
