Assistant Logistics and Inventory Coordinator

Our Palatine office and fabrication facility is located within walking distance to the Palatine Metra Station and is immediately adjacent to Palatine’s Prairie Park.
At Imperial, the shipping and receiving functions support our shop facility, shop management, front office and field installation teams.
Primary Focus:
Support the purchasing and logistics team to plan and execute the transportation of custom high-end architectural fabrications. Assist the team by ensuring reliable inventory levels of key materials and components to support internal fabrication and field installation teams
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all receiving, distributing, and shipping of shop requests from Project Managers, Engineers, Purchasing, Carpenters, and Shop Management
- Assisting with scheduling all local deliveries via messenger or Imperial van to support shop fabrication and field installation teams
- Coordinating movement of custom fabrications from specialty vendors to Imperial Shop or other vendors
- Assisting in pulling product from assembly/finish room for final shipment and overseeing proper packaging and labeling
- Assisting with truck loading and unloading
- Work closely to support Logistics and Procurement Coordinators
- Performs administrative duties related to maintaining stock inventories; may operate a computer terminal

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Supply Chain experience preferred, including knowledge of Inventory and Logistic standard operating procedures.
- Associate degree or High School education and equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
