Summary

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of QA and Improvement is responsible for leading and developing the QA programs for hospital and clinic patient access functions. This includes oversite of dedicated QA teams and specialized coordinator roles designed to provide oversite and subject matter expertise across all facets of standard patient access functions.

The Assistant Director must possess a broad knowledge of Patient Access, including maintaining knowledge of internal policy and procedures, industry practices and regulatory requirements. Is responsible for the expansion and maintenance of a structured quality program designed to support the broader leadership team in the oversite of day-to-day operations, ensuring ongoing awareness of quality and performance levels at all times and initiating improvement activities where needed.

The Assistant Director must be proactive in monitoring and analyzing quality and performance data to maintain awareness, understand trends and drive ongoing improvement and recognition activities. Must work effectively with all levels of the organization, including physicians and other leaders across the system while demonstrating a spirit of collaboration and open lines of communication.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelors in a related field

Experience

3-5 years related experience required; at least 2 years previous management experience preferred.

Strong leadership, coaching and conflict resolution
Good judgement with effective problem-solving ability
Effective at building relationships and fostering collaboration
Proficient organizational skills, time and project management
Strong analytical skills with ability to assess and understand trends in data and evaluate effectiveness of workflows
Ability to research and interpret industry trends and regulatory requirements; understand and articulate challenges and impacts
Effective advisory (consultative) skills with the ability to share knowledge and advise others at all levels of the organization while remaining open to input
Budget development and management
Strong technical aptitude with ability to recognize gaps and optimization opportunities with applications used

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Preferred: Industry certification such as CRCR, CHFP, CHAM or other relevant certification.
