The Opportunity:
The Assistant Director of Donor Relations (university job classification: Manager, Stewardship Programs) is a key partner in executing initiatives designed to strengthen donor engagement and philanthropic support of UCF. The position provides strategic and systems support for a comprehensive range of donor recognition and stewardship activities and assists in developing new strategies, tools, and processes for endowment reports and other forms of impact reporting. The Assistant Director will also support the development and tracking of metrics and key performance indicators for donor relations activities.
Classification Title: Manager, Stewardship Programs
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure donors are thanked appropriately, professionally, and accurately through the oversight and execution of a process for acknowledging gifts on behalf of the executive leadership of UCF and the UCF Foundation, including the president of the university. This includes collaborating with writers and creative teams on content, design, and delivery methods, and tracking the acknowledgment cycle to ensure timeliness.
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive acknowledgment strategy across all giving levels, working closely with partners in advancement services, annual giving, and across the college and unit development teams to coordinate and align this activity.
  • Serve as primary support for the implementation and coordination of donor recognition initiatives. Partner closely with colleagues and teams across Advancement & Partnerships to document, coordinate and align recognition strategies, including formal recognition societies, donor walls, honor rolls, and philanthropic naming opportunities.
  • Execute fulfillment for UCF's central donor recognition societies and initiatives, including lifetime and annual recognition societies, as well as activities to recognize first-time and loyal donors to UCF. Partner with content and creative teams to develop collateral and design unique and meaningful experiences for donors.
  • Serve as primary strategy and implementation lead for core technology platforms used for donor relations activities, including but not limited to video communications platforms, digital endowment and impact reporting, and donor portals. Partner with advancement services teams to design and document a business process and train members of the donor relations team and other colleagues on core platforms.
  • Partner closely with advancement services teams on business process development, data management, tracking, and reporting initiatives across donor relations. Track and report metrics and key performance indicators for donor relations activities.
  • Research and communicate emerging trends and best practices in donor relations; educate internal partners across the university on recognition and stewardship; represent donor interest and intent on Advancement committees as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in managing stewardship programs, especially acknowledgment and recognition programs across multiple donor audiences
  • Previous experience with Blackbaud products, including Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge, Stewardship Management, or Award Management
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge with willingness and ability to learn more advanced data formatting and analysis skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work across functional boundaries to move projects and initiatives forward
