Position Summary:
As a significant member of the Technology Division, the Assistant Director is responsible for directing daily warehouse operations as well as administrative duties across the field services and asset management team. This includes the daily coordination and management of all technology assets through the lifecycle process, including monitoring and reporting daily metrics, planning adequate staff coverage and direct supervision of staff. This role will implement and manage process and procedures for the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure compliance with funding requirements while maximizing operational resources and opportunities for continuous improvement. As a team leader, this role will create and promote a team-oriented, customer focused environment where staff members are engaged and committed to the success of the District.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferably with a concentration in information technology field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Sciences, Information Systems) or logistics, and/or equivalent technical experience in a related field.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in asset management, supply chain/logistics and/or information technology.
A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience managing a team of 5 or more, including performance monitoring and management.
Experience leading change management processes that involve supporting and influencing the facilitation of best practices for school and department staff.
Must be proficient-to-advanced user of Microsoft 365 including extensive Excel experience (i.e., pivot tables, nested functions, and XLOOKUP/Index-Match).
Strong written and verbal communication with good follow up and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
Organizational skills to collect and report on data, conduct analyses, and propose recommendations for improvements.
Essential Functions:
The successful candidate for this role should have a broad applied knowledge of IT operations and logistics in an enterprise environment.
Assist with the development and implementation of the department goals and objectives and key results; monitors and reports measurable outcomes to support the District’s strategic plan.
Assist with management, support, supervision and evaluation of Field Service and Asset Management team; this includes planning adequate staffing levels, coaching and development to ensure optimal performance.
Supervise the daily activities of warehouse operations; sets standards for accuracy and efficiency based on district requirements and department OKRs; drives continuous improvement for optimal performance at all times.
Manage team that holds responsibility for managing quality control, timely and accurate processing, and maintenance of asset inventory; appropriately receives, records and tags assets as well as coordinating prompt delivery to receiving locations.
Develop and implement process, policy, and procedures; serve as an agent to inform, advocate, and administer best practices and protocols aligned to district guidelines and expectations.
Lead major deployment projects with adequate action plans and coordinated resources to ensure timely, cost-effective completion.
Manage asset tracking with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout the lifecycle, collaborating with finance team on integration tools to connect assets to financial records.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure effective contract management, quality assurance and prompt delivery of goods and services, includes assisting with resolving billing and escalated matters.
Coordinate and serve as liaison for special technology purchase projects and donations to ensure assets align to technology standards and are deployed according to the requirements of the project/program.
Prepare and deliver high quality data displays, reports, and presentations for review and analysis by District stakeholders.
Participate in and contribute to knowledge management systems to help improve district communication and accelerate continuous improvement.
Demonstrate an effective approach to teambuilding including clarity of purpose and shared responsibility.
Be a key contributing member and voice within the team; value, solicit, and integrate team members’ different perspectives effectively.
Build and maintain effective relationships across the District and with all District stakeholders.
Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure coordination of shared responsibility projects or tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
