About You

The person we are looking for has a strong foundation in accounting and financial reporting functions. A person with great judgment, initiative, and the ability to deal with complex factors. The ideal candidate has worked in a national accounting firm and has auditing experience or experience with general accounting processes, financial reporting and compliance, technical pronouncements, SEC regulations and provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Position Snapshot

The Assistant Controller provides a direct supporting role to the Corporate Controller in the administration of the accounting, financial reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance activities. This person is a key member of the financial leadership team and will have two direct reports.

  • Assists the Corporate Controller by overseeing all accounting and financial reporting functions.
  • Assists in Preparing financial statements for internal and external parties.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of appropriate actions to ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements.
  • Supports analysis and implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Assists in the administration and development of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the review and compliance with SEC regulations.
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of the consolidated financial analysis.
  • Provides support in the communications and coordination with the Company’s external auditors.
  • Performs technical research on complex accounting, tax and reporting issues as required.
  • Maintains and analyzes certain general ledger accounts.
  • Directly supervises the in-house payroll function and fixed asset accounting.
  • Works with the Corporate Controller in overseeing the training and development of finance staff.
  • Provides departmental leadership and staff development opportunities to create a strong succession plan.
  • Manages the Company’s travel expense reporting.

Qualifications to be considered for the role:

  • Extensive professional training (Bachelor's Degree) in Business Administration including extensive coursework in Accounting and Finance required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience with preferably 3+ years audit experience with a national accounting firm.
  • Experience with general accounting processes, financial reporting and compliance, technical pronouncements, SEC regulations and provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
  • CPA certification preferred.
