Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiees:
- Managing activities relate to routing, tracking of transportation vehicles
- Collaborating with fleet staff to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives
- Coordinating routine maintenance and repairs of transportation vehicles assigned to region
- Ensure all vehicles in region are state complaint. Managing all drivers habits to confirm each team member is complying with safety-related policies and procedures
- Coach and develop staff members to help them reach company and individual goals
- Assess Drivers’ day-to-day to assure success of completing their required schedules
- Resolve issues by coordinating and leading meetings between direct staff and company leadership
- Track Drivers’ hours to confirm they are operating at required efficiency levels
- Support Dispatch to ensure all trips are completed as required
- Arrange and schedule inspections and maintenance of vehicles in assigned Region
- Provide developmental feedback to staff to increase performance
- Conduct regular discussions with all Drivers to review performance against key performance indicators
- Act as emergency response to fleet in the event of driver call-offs, same day
- Understands and accesses all required system applications, communication, and reporting tools to perform job duties accurately and timely and helps the team use all systems and tools consistently.
- Communicates and enforces a professional, positive image and attitude with clients, management, and subordinates.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid Current Indiana Driver’s License
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US
- Negative Drug Screen and clear background check required for employment
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
- HS Degree or equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in management. Transportation & Logistics experience preferred.
- Knowledge of transportation industry trends, processes, best practices, and compliance requirements preferred but not required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organizational, planning, and time management skills. Experience managing at least 20 direct report employees preferred.
- Possesses strong computer skills; efficient with MS Office, mapping tools, transportation software, and office equipment (i.e. telephone, PC, Fax machine, scanner, printer, and photo copier).
- Ability to recognize and secure confidential information.
