Summary Description:
The Applications Engineering position at Hydro Systems is responsible for providing technical support both remotely and in the field for the complete Hydro product line. This role serves as a critical link between product management, engineering, and sales with the end users of our products in the field. In addition to field instillation and product support this role provides insight on enhancements that can be made to boost the value of all Hydro Systems products to our customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to install and train customers to install Hydro Systems products in the field. Equipment will be focused on our electronic product lines.
- Provide project management support for assigned projects
- Ability to trouble shoot existing equipment installations remotely and in person
- Provide both hands on and remote product /technology training to customers, end users, and internal employees
- Be the go-to expert for troubleshooting customer problems on site and via telephone/video calls
- Provide the recommendations to improve existing products value and utilization based off end use applications
- Assist the Hydro Systems team in creating and communicating product and technology value propositions for customers and end users
- Use application knowledge to assist product management and engineering in the translation of customer requirements into product specifications
- Ability to write and execute application-based product testing
- Provide technical input for the creation of product support materials like manuals
Required Qualifications:
- Associates ’s degree in engineering, science, or business is required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
- 5+ Years’ experience providing technical field support or applications engineering support to a product line
- Ability to confidently and safely use tools, such as drill, hammer, and multi-meter
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
- Computer skills are required, familiarity with windows and Microsoft office suite
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 50lbs
- Travel requirement: Up to 30% (primarily domestic)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electronical diagrams and circuitry
- Working knowledge of wireless protocols and equipment that interacts with web-based platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of an organization both internally and externally
- Proven track record of successful problem-solving skills
- Ability to assist the sales team in customer meetings by providing technical product insights to the customer
