POSITION PURPOSE:
The Application Support Analyst will work under the overall guidance of the IT Director and undertake a range of technical and professional responsibilities to support Aviva Health's EMR and EDR systems. They will serve as a point of contact between Aviva and EMR/EDR support and analyze data, operations, and research to recommend policy and procedural modifications. Their primary responsibility will be to provide internal assistance for these systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Troubleshoot the Electronic Medical Records system.
- Assist with ensuring application data integrity including educating users on proper usage and proper values being put into the application.
- Provide support for the testing of new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase and/or upgrade.
- Compiling and interpreting User feedback.
- Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, IT team members and end users.
- Promotes positive customer relations, both internal and external.
- Problem resolution and improvement recommendations.
- Assist, support, or manage some application updates/upgrades. Specifically, smaller patch updates or knowledgebase updates.
- Assignments will include requirements gathering, definition, design, documentation and building processes.
- Development of standards used for data gathering and reporting.
- Perform detailed research and statistical data analysis.
- Assist with the development and preparation of several complex analysis.
- Prepare clear and concise reports.
- Completes assigned tasks as assigned
- Operate a computer and its associated equipment.
- Sit on the Patient Family Advisory Council.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Works with minimal supervision, demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail
- Configure the Electronic Medical Records System
- Desktop support activities.
- Assist with fielding Help Desk telephone calls for desktop support.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Incumbents are required to have demonstrated basic knowledge and abilities in the following areas:
- Experience working in a clinical environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with a strong desire to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong inclination towards improving solutions and/or surrounding processes
- A collaborative mentality and ability to interact across multiple teams
- Ability to think outside the box to drive process improvement
- Ability to multi-task and independently manage project demands in a dynamic environment
- Experience using a guided process
- Experience with healthcare environments
- Experience in healthcare applications including PM and EMR applications.
- Software implementation experience using diversified product lines of information systems is preferred.
- Effective analytical, problem and issue resolution experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards to support business requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge of health care operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of information system applications in the practicing health care environment is desired.
