This position creates internal school-year support and leadership in the area of mathematics instruction, curriculum, and student assessment instead of relying on external consultation.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Assist with school-wide implementation of best practices in math instruction and assessmentThrough specific grade level and District PLC work, lead and support improvement in first-tier math instruction and school-wide intervention systems to support improved student outcomesLead/provide staff development activities related to the implementation of the LNSU Math Priorities and Math Common Core State Standards Participate in the pK-8 district math team and the development of a math assessment plan Collaborate with the LNSU Data Manager with collection of assessment dataSupport teachers with administration of assessments; analyze and interpret assessment results to help inform instructional strategies and curriculum decisionsOversee the administration, data analysis, interpretation and instructional impact of formative and summative assessment results related to the area of mathematicsActively participate in workshops, in-service meetings, teacher trainings, building level staff meetings, district meetings, and other school and district committees/projects, making substantial contributionsModel best practices lessons by modeling or co-teaching lessonsAssist in the creation of and provide embedded professional development with teachersShare resources and support teachers in identifying appropriate instructional materials and implementation of strategiesKeep abreast of current best practices, research findings, and other developments in the fieldIdentify staff development needs related to mathSeek out and actively participate in opportunities for professional development to enhance content knowledge and teaching skills, to support district goals and school action/strategic plans.This position will report to, be supervised by, and evaluated by the LNSU Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
