GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Drop In Center Program Manager, the Anti-Trafficking Caseworker provides direct, comprehensive, trauma informed, client centered case management services to survivors to ensure acute needs are met in a timely and culturally appropriate manner. The caseworker is responsible for maintaining case file documentation to fulfill contract requirements and assist with grant reporting on program objectives and outcomes. This position will maintain knowledge of resources in the community and build partnerships for linking survivors to additional supportive services.
This position is a full time, exempt position eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 403(b) retirement plan and Flexible Time Off. This position is employed by Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada, Inc., through Next Move Homeless Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides case management through personal engagement with youth per Wind Youth Services guidelines.
- Maintains and manages an assigned case load.
- Conducts assessments of human trafficking survivors to determine immediate and long-term needs, safety and risk considerations, program compatibility, eligibility to receive comprehensive services, and any other factors affecting the ability to obtain and maintain housing.
- Develops individualized case plans based on assessments and discussions with continuous monitoring, guidance and follow up of plan progress and outcomes.
- Assists in obtaining short-term shelter and long-term housing.
- Assists in obtaining documents, public benefits, health, education and employment services.
- Maintains up-to-date information about available resources relevant to the needs of human trafficking survivors.
- Facilitates referrals to appropriate community resources and provide transportation to service locations.
- Creates, presents, and assists with group and individual workshops.
- Assists with or leads youth activities and assignments.
- Assists with daily supportive services as needed, supports facility operations and cleanliness, and ensures the safety of youth and staff.
- Maintains secure, accurate and up-to-date physical and electronic records following approved procedures and protocols.
- Attends job related trainings and courses as required.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with all Goodwill Industries Sacramento Valley Northern Nevada policies, CARF standards, financial, regulatory, safety and security regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications of the Role:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have at least one year of experience working with trafficked individuals.
- Holds a master’s degree in Counseling or related field.
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Must have experience working with diverse communities.
- Must have experience in goal setting relating to education, employment, housing, and other identified goals.
- Must have the ability to meet the specific needs of each youth as an individual.
- Must be able to understand and accept a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices.
- Must have experience and understanding of harm reduction frameworks and how they apply to direct service.
- Must have knowledge of community resources as they relate to human trafficking, homelessness, and youth.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have the interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse population of staff, coworkers and external contacts.
- Mut demonstrate the ability to function under pressure, use good judgement in challenging situations and be flexible/adaptable.
- Must demonstrate efficient and effective time management skills.
- Must have valid CA driver’s license and access to reliable transportation that does not interfere with performing the essential functions of the job description, cause tardiness, or unexcused absences.
- Must be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance as driving company vehicles periodically is required.
- Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must pass a drug screening and maintain compliance with the organization’s drug and alcohol policy.
- Must pass a background screening and maintain compliance with the organization’s associated polices.
- Must not have record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates an ongoing tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior.
- Must not present a direct threat of safety and health to self, others, or property.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of this job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must immediately inform Goodwill of any arrests and/or convictions that occur while employed at Goodwill.
- Must have direct experience providing clinical services, case management or crisis services.
- Must have the ability to remain calm and focused in volatile situations.
- Must have demonstrated experience working in crisis intervention.
- Must have the ability to develop and maintain professional behavior/appropriate boundaries with youth and staff members.
