The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is currently recruiting an AmeriCorps VISTA to join in our mission to feed people and fight hunger. The AmeriCorps VISTA program is a national service program where you commit to serve for a full year with your Foodbank.
The Foodbank's network of 600+ hunger-relief programs is vital to feeding families facing hunger in our eight-county service area. The Network Capacity Coordinator VISTA will strengthen and expand the capacity of this network during a critical time as the landscape and challenges they face continue to rapidly evolve.
The VISTA member will engage hunger-relief partners in 3 key projects:
- Help develop, pilot, and implement innovative technologies
- Evaluate and implement an infrastructure assessment
- Invest in their growth by exploring a nonprofit leadership academy and new recruitment strategies.
Benefits include:
- Living stipend: $675.08 biweekly
- Housing stipend: $200 monthly
- Choice of end of service award: $6,895 education award or $1,800 cash award
- Mileage reimbursement: $0.65/mile
- Training opportunities
Requirements include:
- Minimum 18 years old
- College graduate
- Skills: written/oral communication, project management, organization, track/analyze/present data, general computer/technology skills, and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
- Passion for community service
- Access to reliable transportation
- Program start/end date: 06/05/2023-06/04/2024
