Willow Overview

Willow is an oil discovery located within the Bear Tooth Unit (BTU) in the National Petroleum Reserve of Alaska (NPR-A) approximately 30 miles west-southwest of the Alpine Central Facility (ACF) on the North Slope of Alaska. The discovery was established with the drilling of two exploration wells, Tinmiaq 2 and Tinmiaq 6, in 2016 and further delineated in 2018-2020 with the drilling of multiple appraisal wells.

The Willow Development is expected to contain greater than 600 MMBOE gross recoverable resource. The initial phase of Willow development will include a new Willow Central Processing Facility (WCF), three drill sites, pipelines, roads, bridges, and supporting infrastructure. The second phase of development will include at least one additional drill site.

Willow Project Scope Summary

The Initial Development Phase will require six (6) years of field construction commencing in 2023 and completing in 2028. Early construction work focuses on establishing infrastructure, gravel roads, bridges, airstrip, pipelines, and temporary and permanent camps. Later work in the initial development phase focuses on the installation of process facilities on WCF and 3 drillsites.

Field construction commences in 2023 (Year 1) with limited civil construction. 2024 (Year 2) continues with civil construction and begins pipeline construction. 2025 (Year 3) continues civil and pipelines and on pad facility work starts with the installation of the permanent camp and infrastructure at the Willow Operations Center (WOC). 2026 (Year 4) completes civil construction, continues pipeline construction, and starts facility construction on the WCF. 2027 (Year 5) continues pipeline and facility construction work and work begins on the drillsites. 2028 (Year 6) completes pipeline and facility construction for the initial development phase.

Description

This is a ConocoPhillips direct hire North Slope based position working a 2-week on/off schedule. The role will report to the Willow Logistics Supervisor based in Anchorage and will be the primary interface with the Willow Field Construction Superintendent and ConocoPhillips North Slope Operations.

The Willow Logistics Lead – North Slope will be based at Kuparuk Industrial Center (KIC) working with the Willow Project team, contractors and integrated North Slope Operations (including other lease holders) to ensure efficient execution of the ground logistics program supporting Willow Construction and Drilling. The role will oversee and manage all Willow North Slope ground logistics activities including staging, marshalling, and prioritized distribution of fuel and materials to construction sites. It will provide oversight of on-site contractors, equipment, facilities, and materials receipt and inspection duties as required.

The incumbent will be the Willow project interface for several key contractor relationships including: the Logistics Managed Service (LMS) contractor North Slope activities, the Willow logistics staging support contractor and in-field transport and construction contractors. Additionally, internal ConocoPhillips interfaces will include the Kuparuk River Unit (KRU) in relation to Willow Logistics activities and the Willow construction superintendents.

Your responsibilities may include:

Daily activities will include:

  • Single north slope point of contact for Willow Logistics
  • Supervision of on-site contractors
  • Representing Willow Logistics for daily on-slope Project construction activities,
  • Liaison with other ConocoPhillips business units,
  • Ensuring the validity and adherance to the site material stagng plans and processes,
  • Management of on-site resources,
  • Developing and responding to prioritized material requirements,
  • Responding to dynamic changes during construction activities, and
  • Inspection and receipt of materials as required

HSE

  • Proactively lead HSE performance by communicating, fostering, supporting, and enforcing HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives
  • Perform HSE engagements and interventions with contracted service providers if required
  • Implement and support the COPA Incident Free Culture (IFC) program with contractors through participation in IFC workshops and field engagements
  • Continuously demonstrates strong adherence to Company SPIRIT values

Qualifications


Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
  • 10+ years oil and gas experience to include Greenfields/brownfields major project construction
  • 5+ years of logistics management or supervisory experience
  • Current/valid driver’s license
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work in a remote work location on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off work schedule

Preferred:

  • 5+ years direct experience in a supervisory or leadership role on the North Slope
  • Detailed knowledge of existing COP north slope operating practices and contract relationships
  • Experience with materials management and business ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Advanced level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced level multi-tasking skills with ability to manage multiple ongoing activities
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and across organizational boundaries
  • Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Drives thoughtful and pragmatic change, encourages innovative thinking and continuous improvement, and models adaptability through resourcefulness, flexibility, and positivity
