Overview:
The Avionics Mechanic III position works under the guidance of a Maintenance Controller & Site Supervisor. The mechanic will perform Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot level repairs of MV-22 Osprey Aircraft, Aviation support ground vehicles, and component maintenance. The mechanic must be knowledgeable in: documentation of maintenance discrepancies, aircraft survivability equipment (ASE), aircraft electrical and environmental systems, software loading (ASCM), technical directive implementation, to include troubleshooting, inspection, modifications, removal and installation of components, forms, documents, & the Integrated Maintenance Data System to include in-process inspections (IP’s) and safety of flight conditions. Must have knowledge with Blade Fold Wing Stow systems and perform (Yellow/Red X Halt) corrective actions when applicable. Must possess an active secret security clearance. Individual experience with Avionics systems maintenance encouraged to apply! Please note: this task order has a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in place.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain repair and modify aircraft avionic systems and structural components of moderate difficulty
  • Navigate through applicable technical orders to research information on materials and required repairs.
  • Communicate the repairs and work conducted via the available organizational maintenance system. (OOMA)
  • Responsible for mixing chemicals in accordance with manufacture instructions and technical guidelines
  • Performs corrosion control operations on aircraft, support equipment, and components.
  • Troubleshoot components and provide sensible solutions to conduct maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Obtain Ground Support Equipment Licenes on multiple pieces of AGSE.
  • Fully comprehend all aspects of the Naval Aviaition Maintenance Program (NAMP) to include FOD prevention, tool control, and broken, worn, missing tool procedures
  • Use A1-V22AB-TIS-000 to perform maintenance and applicable operational checks
Qualifications:
  • Education/Certifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent, plus successful completion of basic and craftsman level related military or commercial courses (courses in mathematics, algebra, chemistry, physics, mechanical drawing and metal working are desirable)
    • Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Resprentative, 7-level, craftsman or equilalent experience required.
    • Minimum of three years actual and recent aircraft experience,
    • Experience with composite, tile, tailpipe and radar absorbent structure (RAS) experience required
    • Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers and other tolerance measuring equipment
    • Qualified candidates will be skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering dispositions and diagrams
    • This position will require a driver's license, U.S. citizenship, and an active DoD Secret security clearance

    • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude
    • Must be able to stand, bend, climb, squat, and sit for extended periods while preforming tasks.
    • Must be able to lift/pull/tug up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
