Agronomy Seed Technician
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Agronomy Seed Technician, are to:
- Comply with corporate EPA, USDA and company compliance training requirements;
- Ensure compliance with WPS and federal and state labor law in collaboration with site’s HSE and HR leads;
- Scout seed production areas/nurseries for weeds, insects, diseases, nutrient deficiencies and other agronomic conditions affecting the crop;
- Supervise and train field workers in corporate, function and site specific procedures that influence the efficacy of operation process and are equipped with the respective PPE;
- Identify areas of opportunities and drive improvement to do strong and efficient area;
- Participate in initiatives that help the impact in our planet and community;
- Perform/Oversee agronomy activities including fertilization, irrigation, land preparation and calibration of equipment among other following regulatory guidelines and in compliance with applicable local, state, or federal requirement;
- Complete and/or participate in safety inspections/training and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures;
- Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 5,000 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Prior experience in agriculture;
- Knowledge of agricultural equipment and/or row crop production practices;
- Basic experience working in a collaborative team;
- Basic experience with both standard MS Office computer;
- Experience working in field operations environment;
- Basic experience with precision agriculture/IT tools;
- Fluent in Spanish and English language, written and conversational;
- Valid driver’s license; Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Life Sciences or related field;
- 1+ years of work agriculture experience;
- Prior experience in agriculture irrigation;
- Basic knowledge agricultural chemistries for pest control;
- Restricted Use Pesticide Applicator License;
- Experience with seed technology industry or plant breeding;
