After School Toddler Teacher
Job description
The Montessori Children's House of Arlington is looking for a peaceful, patient, and kind After School Toddler Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be consistent, flexible, able to work as a team, and respectful of both children and adults.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide high quality engagement and active supervision, while simultaneously observing and allowing the child to develop concentration
- Maintain EEC licensing standards and ratios during after-school
- Assist with preparing environment and materials for use in after-school
- Follow Montessori philosophy as interpreted by the faculty and Head of School at MCHA
- Help address and advocate for the needs of every student in the classroom
- Communicate individual children's daily reports with families, utilising parent engagement software, face-to-face conversations, and phone calls as appropriate
- Collaborate with faculty and Head of School to continually evaluate and improve the school climate and program quality

- Salary of $18 - $22 per hour. All school closings, including holidays and vacations, are paid.

Requirements for this Position
- Required Infant/Toddler Assistant OR Teacher Certification through EEC (or, fulfill Minimum Hiring Requirements for Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher)
- Required CPR/First Aid Certification
- Required Be physically able to sit on the floor, move from a kneeling to standing position quickly, and life 40lbs
- Preferred Prior experience in a Toddler Environment - Montessori preferred, other environments acceptable
- Preferred Associates's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
