We are searching for an Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer. This is an onsite position at our facility in Lewis Center, Ohio. To perform this job successfully, the individual we seek will have an Aerospace industry background with demonstrated experience supporting a production team through a hands-on engineering approach. Experience with fixture design, manufacturing process development and introducing new designs into existing processes are key.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on engineering support in production department to trouble-shoot and resolve technical problems related to Clearance Control (masking, electroplating, QC) processes.
  • Design and test electroplating and handling fixtures for aerospace engine components (blades, vanes, seals, IBRs, drums).
  • Establish and maintain the configuration management systems for fixtures, tooling, and other manufacturing aids in support of the Clearance Control product line.
  • Recommend PM schedules and processes to insure maximum equipment availability.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Engineer and Applications Engineer to analyze process nonconformance, conduct root cause analysis, develop, and implement solutions with manufacturing associates following all customer approval processes.
  • Create and maintain process work instructions, fixture drawings, and train manufacturing associates.
  • Evaluate existing processes to improve process capability and develop best practices within manufacturing, work with Operations Leadership define objectives.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of AS13100, AS9100, NADCAP and other certifications as required.
  • Collaborate with the Applications Engineer to provide customer solutions. Research and identify new manufacturing technologies.
  • Effectively communicate progress of projects and assigned tasks.


Required Qualifications:


  • A bachelor’s degree required with focus in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, materials, or metallurgical engineering is required.
  • 2 + years of hands-on experience in production environment trouble-shooting technical problems and implementing process improvements in an Aerospace manufacturing environment required.
  • Demonstrated collaborative problem solving with manufacturing associates to identify root cause and implement process improvements.
  • Design and implementation of technical plan training of manufacturing associates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability and desire to listen, are a must.
  • Desire to learn high-tech electroplated super abrasive processes in a hands-on manufacturing floor setting.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on a continuous basis.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in an AS9100 quality system.
  • Electroplating experience.
  • Aerospace special process knowledge in general; experience working with Inconel and titanium aerospace components.
  • Experience designing fixtures for plating or other chemical processes.
  • Experience working with production processes and associates in a Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, or GE quality system.
