We have an opportunity for an experienced Aerospace Engineer to support a critical NAVAIR program office at NAS Patuxent River, MD. In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end development and fielding of weapons in support of US Navy and Marine Corps Counter Air/Counter Air Defense missions. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing support for continuing operations of existing capabilities of fleet assets ensuring legacy systems are fully available throughout system life cycle
  • Supporting the risk assessment process which includes evaluation of system design, development, production, deployment, and end of life planning / execution
  • Providing engineering support regarding the integration of Air-to-Air weapons on multiple platforms
  • Conducting gap analysis associated with warfighter needs and Air-to-Air weapons development
  • Developing requirements and roadmap development for future weapons capabilities
  • Liaison with developmental and operational test communities as well as SBIR and other Science & Technology analysis forums
Requirements:

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Aerospace) is required
  • 3-7 years of experience supporting a DoD program is required
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proactive personality with the ability to work with limited guidance and supervision
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, adept at managing competing priorities and initiating projects

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
