Job Description

Iona University seeks an Adjunct Professor to teach various graduate and undergraduate classes related to Speech Communication and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides student-centered learning environment
• Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to: course development, primary instruction of didactic courses using traditional classroom and online delivery modalities
• Optimizes class/lab/online environment that is conducive to student learning by developing creative, challenging and evidence-based learning opportunities
• Uses learning assessment information to improve teaching and curriculum
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives to meet program and institutional goals
• Actively engages in scholarship to advance knowledge and develops and implements a scholarship plan/faculty development plan as required by accreditation standards and Iona University
• Stays current with clinical practice and evidence that support content area expertise and professional growth
• Design and implement course learning activities and assignments to promote students attaining learning objectives

Required Experience

• A Master's Degree and NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology
• Academic teaching experience both face to face and online teaching
• Collegiality and openness for collaborating with other faculty members connecting course to other program course work
