Position Description:


Sprezzatura seeks an Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team. The specialist will provide direct support of government project managers with the creation of acquisition packages for VA projects.


Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Draft/coordinate/review/edit acquisition documentation with VA stakeholders.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and complete Action Items to support the OCTO Acquisition Operations group (AcqOps).
  • Facilitate the creation of acquisition documentation, such as Performance Work Statements, cost estimates, etc.
  • Create acquisition artifacts without dependency on template and samples.
  • Track, manage, and prioritize numerous pre-award and post-award actions and drive actions to completion
  • Communicate with stakeholders from different backgrounds/talents/abilities.
  • Effectively communicate acquisition concepts to people who have very little understanding of acquisition.
  • Manage updates on the Acquisition Board, which tracks contract actions and tasks.
  • Support OCTO’s Contracting Officer’s Representatives (COR) to effectively manage contracts and task orders.
  • Coordinate/facilitate/attend multiple daily calls/meetings related to acquisition and budget.
  • Assist in keeping meetings organized. May include facilitating, note taking, identifying action items, etc.
  • Create, design, and edit spreadsheets that capture contracting data.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expert with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Acquisition package development experience required.
  • Experience with CEDAR preferred.
  • Experience with VA acquisition process required.
  • Experience with government budget formulation.
  • Proven ability to professionally communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.

Other Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or related scientific /technical discipline is required. 10 years’ experience in lieu of qualifying degree.
  • 10 years of experience with federal acquisition support as well as excellent analytical skills
  • PMP preferred.
  • ITIL Foundations certification preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle and different acquisition strategies/vehicles
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to understand nuance of different acquisition strategies, such as differences between utilizing various IDIQs, GSA, open market, etc.
  • Understanding of innovative acquisition techniques and ability to foresee opportunity and hazards in implementing these techniques.
  • Understanding of the TechFAR and other agile procurement artifacts.
  • Understanding of the intersection between acquisition and modern software development principles, especially those in the digital service playbook.
