This position works Monday - Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm. This is not a remote position.

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for completing payments, and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

Some duties are:

  • Reconcile work by verifying entries and comparing reports to balances.
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by reviewing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
  • Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing ACH payments; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
  • Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • 2-4 years prior accounting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High energy level, comfortable with multi-tasking.
  • Must be well-organized, flexible and able to work in a fast paced office environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Read/Write Fluently in English
  • MS Office Suite including; Outlook, Excel, Access, and MSWord.
  • Sustained dependable attendance.
  • Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues.
  • Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Position located in an office environment, with exposure to the manufacturing floor when needed.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to walk up and down stairs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
