Job Responsibilities:
- The Accounting Associate is responsible for maintaining accuracy and processing of accounts payable invoice and checks in accordance with company procedures and timeframes.
- Responsibilities includes working collaboratively with CFO and Accounting Staff, as needed.
- The Accounting Associate will fulfill other duties and projects as requested by the Controller.
- The candidate should be a culturally competent individual who will work in the alignment with Family Connections mission.
- The Accounting Associate must be an enthusiastic team player and dedicated to the agency's mission and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or another related field of study.
Experience: 2 plus years' experience working within an administrative capacity, accounting principles and practices.
Knowledge: Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping. Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel. Operation of switchboard, typing/data entry/word processing, filing, operation of other business machines (fax, copy machine, etc.).
Skills and Abilities: Advanced written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills, a motivated self-starter, excellent planning and organizing skills, attention to detail. Able to use a computer database system. Able to negotiate contracts with clients and service providers. Able to multitask efficiently. The ability to think creatively and solve problems. Able to Identify and solve problems for clients. Able to select the best price for products and services. Able to and interested in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. An understanding of professional ethics and issues of confidentiality. The ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team.
Bilingual in Spanish and/or French Creole preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: The individual must be willing to travel across the state of NJ. The individual must possess the ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and lifting of up to or in excess of 50 pounds.
