JOB SUMMARY
All Servotronics, Inc. 2nd shift employees earn a 10% shift differential. Under direct supervision, the Assembler I performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. The job will require use of a few simple hand tools. The Assembler I must be able to perform moderately complex and intricate assembly operations and processes for the first phase of development of the Servo valve.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, or parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
Utilize hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as tapes, rulers, and pressure gauges.
Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
Perform a visual inspection of raw materials and products using magnifiers and microscopes.
Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Read and interpret electronic/hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and engineering and weld drawings a plus.
- Must have a clear understanding of general math (including fractions and decimals) and have the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and on the production floor.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of manufactured parts and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Other: Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, including assisting co-workers when required. Grip continuously for tool use, and parts handling. Adequate physical ability including sufficient manual dexterity to perform the requisite manufacturing duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.'
