Job description
Our Boys & Girls Club of the Golden Triangle AmeriCorps VISTA Project will select and place up to 11 Summer Associates among our three clubhouses located in Starkville Columbus, and West Point, MS for a ten-week term of service. Depending on placement, Associates and their Clubhouses will provide summer learning enrichment for area youth and provide programming to combat hunger and food insecurity. VISTA Summer Associates will be coordinated by Project staff from the Starkville Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Club of the Golden Triangle.
Member Duties : Summer Associates in each of our Clubhouses will alleviate poverty within our community by providing Program Instruction to reduce summer learning loss for our members. In addition, Summer Associates will work alongside Chef to prepare and plate Club members meals daily. Summer Associates will undergo training on program basics at the beginning of the summer program and will prepare lesson plans (Summer Brain Gain) weekly for Club member activities and schedule field trips. Summer Associates will complete program sheets to track daily activities and ensure that classroom is clean daily. Summer Associates will collaborate with Chef to clean and sanitize the kitchen daily (washing dishes, mopping, logging meal counts etc.)
